I’m glad I’ve now seen the original, I saw a copy at the National gallery last year.

The completed painting on the left is painted on canvas. Each day it is rolled out and taped to the pavement (sidewalk). Mean time the Artist (?) works very slowly, (it could take two tourist seasons) on another canvas. It truly is painting by numbers - and a very good money maker. -
